The prevalence of tuberculosis (TB) cases in Indonesia contributes to the persistent issue of TB in the country. Children and adolescents frequently receive incorrect diagnoses, resulting in frequent misdiagnosis. TB is significantly affected by each individual's immune system, resulting in variations in the features of each child. Certain children can receive treatment as outpatients. Certain individuals experience difficulties that necessitate hospitalisation. This study aimed to ascertain the differences in the characteristics of child pulmonary tuberculosis patients receiving outpatient and inpatient care at Dr Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. This study employed an observational analytic research methodology utilising a cross-sectional design. The data collected consisted of primary data acquired through interviews utilising questionnaires and secondary data gained from patient medical records. The data were examined using univariate and bivariate analysis techniques. The bivariate analysis employed the Chi-Square (X2) statistical test, with a significance level (α) = 0.05. There were variations in features among child pulmonary TB patients, including parental income, clinical symptoms (such as fever for ≥ 2 weeks, cough for ≥ 2 weeks, and malaise (lethargy)), and results of rapid moleculer test using sputum for outpatient and inpatient child pulmonary TB patients.
